Transitioning out of the military proved to be a challenging period for me as I faced difficulties reintegrating into society. I must admit that I was a very angry person and my struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder was intensified by my drinking habits. Consequently, my life spiraled out of control, leading to my first offense for operating a vehicle under the influence, with a loaded handgun in 2014. At that point, I despised myself, questioned the existence of a higher power, and even contemplated ending my own life. Thankfully, I refrained from taking such drastic measures.

However, I eventually reached a turning point and realized that I needed to make significant changes in my life. It took several years for me to understand the personal need and have the willingness to do so. In 2015, I met Jamie, who is now my loving wife of six incredible years. She has had an immeasurable impact on my personal growth, making me a far better individual. Without her boundless love, unwavering support, and forgiveness, I don't know where I would be, I guess dead or in prison.

In 2016, I started to find peace in faith and this decision has undoubtedly been the most transformative one I have ever made. The subsequent journey has been difficult, yet immensely rewarding, I still had and still do have a lot of learning to do. Despite discovering God, I continued to grapple with the challenges of PTSD and substance abuse, resulting in my second offense for operating a vehicle under the influence in 2018. It was a pivotal moment for me, as I recognized that this was not a divine intervention to teach me a lesson but rather the consequences of my own choices. Taking full responsibility for my actions, I witnessed God's intervention in my life in numerous ways.

Following my military service, I dedicated nearly ten years of my career to sales, specifically within the automotive industry. Through the implementation of structure, discipline, and a newfound faith, my journey began with washing cars and ultimately led me to the position of a new car manager. In 2019, I began volunteering at Ohio's Maximum Prison Lucasville, conducting services. This experience revealed to me the significant number of veterans who are incarcerated, igniting a strong passion within me. As a result, in March 2023, I made the decision to establish Chaplain Otto Ministries, with a primary focus on assisting struggling veterans by utilizing my diverse skill set.

My mission is to Preach the Gospel both on the streets and within correctional facilities, helping veterans overcome difficulties I personally have faced and have overcome with FAITH.

  • I currently serve as the State Chaplain for the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association and as the Assistant Pastor of the Chapel of Rest.
